Ingredients
- 1 fully cooked spiral-cut ham (8–10 lbs)
- ¾ cup orange marmalade
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup Dijon mustard
- ¼ cup bourbon
- Zest and juice of 1 orange
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground cloves
- ¼ cup apple cider or water (for roasting pan)
Directions
- Preheat oven: Set oven to 325 °F (160 °C).
- Prepare the glaze: In a medium bowl, whisk together orange marmalade, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, bourbon, orange zest and juice, cinnamon, and cloves until smooth.
- Prepare the ham: Lightly score the fat on the spiral-cut ham in a diagonal pattern to allow the glaze to penetrate.
- Place the ham: Put the ham flat-side down in a roasting pan. Pour apple cider or water into the pan to keep it moist.
- Apply initial glaze: Brush a generous layer of glaze over the ham.
- Bake: Heat in the oven about 10–12 minutes per pound, or until warmed through.
- Glaze periodically: Brush more glaze over the ham every 20–30 minutes to build a sticky, caramelized crust.
- Rest the ham: Remove from oven and let rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
- Serve: Slice along the spiral cuts and plate for your New Year’s celebration.
✨ Serving Tip: Garnish with fresh orange slices and rosemary sprigs. Pair with roasted root vegetables, creamy mashed potatoes, and sparkling cider or champagne for a truly festive presentation.
